Since this is my first post, I suppose I should introduce myself and give you a little background. My name is Steve Cox and yes, I am using my real name. I am so sick of "anonymity" on the Internet. But I digress. At the time of this posting, I am 46 years of age, though I am much more curmudgeonly that my age would suggest. I am a former police officer with two decades "on the job". My wife and I have no children, but I suppose I could go the cutesy route and tell you fine folks that we have four fuzzy little children....Nah. Sorry, I digress yet again. I do that a lot. Be patient. Or not. Your call. So, where was I? Oh yeah, I was rambling on about my background. Yes, my wife of eight years and I are childless, both by biology and choice. We have nothing against children. In fact, I think children are great...as long as they are slow roasted and sliced thinly. I'm only half joking...it's up to you to decide which half. They say that children should be seen and not heard. I disagree, I don't want to see them either. I mean come on, all this "children are the future" crap has really gotten out of hand. I have seen (and heard) the children, therefore I have seen the future and the future is gonna suck.
Okay, now that I have pissed off all the parents out there, please allow me to continue to piss off any other prospective demographic that may stumble upon this blog. No better way to do that than talk politics, eh?
I am a former republican, just slightly right of Attila the Hun. I have mellowed with age, or maybe my common sense has just started to develop, who knows. I suppose that my political views could be described as libertarian with conservative leanings. Basically, I don't give a rats rosy red posterior what anyone else does, as long as it doesn't directly affect me. Stay out of my wallet, my bedroom and my computer and we'll get along just fine. I honestly don't care how you live your life, who or what you sleep with, who or what you pray to or IF you pray...seriously...don't care. Party on. Just don't make me foot the bill for it. So, where does the conservative part come in? Well, I'll tell ya. I make conservative decisions for ME. Also I still harbor feelings of contempt bordering on hatred for hippies and other left wing types. Nancy Pelosi, we get it. You miss the sixties, now shut the eff up and retire already, ya friggin' muppet.. Sorry, I had a build up of intolerance and it had to come out. That happens a lot too. Well, enough is enough, for now. I'm starting to bore myself.
Until next time,
Stay cranky, ever'body!
